​Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed tie the knot

Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed have tied the knot, according to multiple reports.

Paparazzi photos started making the rounds Monday morning, and E! News confirmed that Somerhalder, 36, and Reed, 26, wed Sunday in Santa Monica, California.

The couple first got together last year before engagement news surfaced in January. Things moved pretty fast for the couple, who recently also launched a production company together.

"It's important for people in general, but specifically women, to explore new avenues -- in our industry," Reed told CBS News recently about their production company. "There's truly a lack [there.]....I think for women especially, writing and creating your and role, producing, directing -- having some control over what you do is really important. We can pave the way for other women to send what messages they want sent."

Reed was previously married to "American Idol" alum Paul McDonald. Somerhalder dated his "Vampire Diaries" co-star Nina Dobrev before splitting in 2013.
