Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed are engaged

A vampire romance is heating up in Hollywood.

Actors Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed -- who've starred in TV's "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Twilight Saga" film franchise, respectively -- are now engaged.

People reported the engagement news Thursday, citing an unnamed source. It comes about six months after the pair's romance first hit headlines back in July.

Over the weekend, Somerhalder, 36, and Reed, 26, stepped out together at the InStyle and Warner Bros. Golden Globes after-party.

"I'm in awe of Nikki tonight," Somerhalder told InStyle at the soiree.

Reed was previously married to "American Idol" alum Paul McDonald, while Somerhalder split from his "Vampire Diaries" co-star Nina Dobrev in 2013.
