Hunters kill massive gator accused of eating cattle at farm

OKEECHOBEE, Fla.- A massive alligator killed by two Florida hunters might be big as the tractor they used to pull it out of the water,CBS Miami reports.

Outwest Farms in Okeechobee posted a picture of the dead gator on its Facebook page Saturday.

Naples Daily News reported Lee Lightsey, the owner of Outwest Farms, and Blake Godwin, a guide, spotted the gator in one of their cattle ponds.

Lightsey said he shot the monstrous reptile as it was coming out of the water about 20 feet away.

Godwin said they found the remains of cattle in the water and determined that the gator was eating the livestock as they came to drink.

The beast was so big they had to use a John Deere farm tractor to pull it out of the water.

After measuring it, they said the gator was nearly 15-feet long and almost 800 pounds.

According to Naples Daily News, Outwest Farms plans to donate the gator's meat to charity and stuff the animal to display at hunting shows.
