How to watch Donald Trump's Iowa event for vets

What Donald Trump will be doing instead of Thursday's Fox News debate

In lieu of participating in the Republican debate Thursday night, GOP front-runner Donald Trump will hold a competing event in Des Moines.

Trump, who announced his plans on Wednesday after his feud with Fox News culminated in a promise to skip the network-hosted debate, intends to use the "special event" to fundraise for veterans causes.

"What am I gonna do there?" Trump asked his supporters at a South Carolina rally on Wednesday. "You know what we're going to do? We're gonna raise a lot of money for the vets. That's what we're gonna do."

Some veterans groups, however, have already vowed to refuse any donations from Trump's event.

Trump's chosen venue, Drake University, is only three miles away from where Fox News will hold its debate, the final GOP forum before the nation's first official nominating contest kicks off.

The event will take place just four days away from the first Iowa caucuses on Feb. 1.
