"House of Cards" sets season 3 premiere date

A late-Thanksgiving treat, a post-Black Friday deal, a Cyber Monday gift...whatever you want to call it, Netflix has announced the premiere date for the third season of "House of Cards."

A video teasing the next installment in the Kevin Spacey-starring political drama arrived via Twitter on Monday, billed as a "special message from the White House."

Season 3 will debut on Netflix on Feb. 27, 2015. That date came in a teaser that shows Spacey's Frank Underwood (aka -- spoiler alert -- President Underwood) and his wife, Claire (Robin Wright) boarding a plane.

The show's first two seasons also had February premiere dates -- season 2 arrived this past Valentine's Day. Earlier this year, "House of Cards" creator Beau Willimon told CBS News that the "phenomenal" reaction to those episodes "just motivates us more to make season 3 even better."
