Hotel locked down in search for Mich. double murder suspect
ROMULUS, Mich. -- A suburban Detroit hotel was on lockdown Monday morning as police searched for a suspect in a double murder, reports CBS Detroit.
Police say Embassy Suites near Metropolitan Airport in Romulus is on lockdown as they continue to search for Pablo Medina, a suspect in the murders of his estranged wife and another woman in Detroit over the weekend.
Medina is reportedly employed at the hotel as a maintenance worker.
Police told the Detroit Free Press the 41-year-old waited for his estranged wife and her friend early Saturday morning at a home in Detroit's southwest side. When the two women pulled up in a car, police say he opened fire.
They say the 27-year-old driver was shot and killed. Medina's estranged wife, 42, attempted to flee, but he allegedly chased her and shot her dead.
Medina escaped in a Chevy Camero which was later recovered by police.
Police issued an alert that Medina is to be considered armed and dangerous.
