Homeless man arrested for hiding away in plane cargo area

KEY WEST, Fla. - Officials say a homeless man was arrested in the Florida Keys after airline employees reported finding him asleep in the cargo area inside a passenger plane.

Jamie Crabtree told police he jumped Key West International Airport's barbed wire fence and entered the Delta plane, where he fell asleep until employees found him Thursday morning.

The 32-year-old told authorities he intended to stow away on the plane because he wanted to leave the country. Crabtree was charged with burglary and trespassing on posted airport property.
