Harry Connick Jr. lands his own daytime talk show

Harry Connick Jr. is the latest celebrity taking a chance on daytime TV.

The 48-year-old singer has inked a deal to host a syndicated daytime talk/variety show to air on Fox-owned stations, NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution announced on Tuesday.

Dubbed "Harry," the show will find Connick conducting interviews, holding live performances and doing parodies and leading audience-participation sketches, per Deadline.

"Harry" will debut in fall 2016. But first, Connick will return as judge on the final season of "American Idol," debuting early next year.
