Gwyneth Paltrow recalls "conscious uncoupling" announcement: "We broke the Internet"

Kim Kardashian isn't the one celebrity with the supposed ability to "break the Internet."

Gwyneth Paltrow thinks she can, too. Well, at least the time when she and Chris Martin announced their "conscious uncoupling" (aka decision to divorce) in a blog post for Goop.

On Tuesday, Paltrow appeared at the Fast Company Innovation Festival in New York City, alongside Yahoo's Katie Couric Lisa Gersh, CEO of Goop, Paltrow's lifestyle website. During the chat, the actress said that she couldn't believe the social and Internet buzz that their announcement generated.

"Even if you look back at the time my husband and I were separating and the philosophy of 'conscious uncoupling,' we broke the f**king Internet," the 43-year-old Oscar winner said. "When you look back, you think, 'This is kind of a good thing to talk about. What if you break up in a way you could remain a family even though you're not a couple?'"

Martin and Paltrow called it quits in March 2014 after 11 years of marriage.
