George W. Bush shows up for jury duty

Former President George W. Bush's civic duties didn't end when he left the White House in 2009. The former president surprised a group of his fellow Texans when he showed up for jury duty at the George Allen Courts Building in Dallas.

Mr. Bush was at the courthouse for about three hours during the jury selection process but was not picked to serve as a juror, the Dallas Morning News reports.

Dallas resident Sheri Coleman, also there for jury duty, told the Morning News that the former president's presence there was "awesome," and that he took the time to chat and take photos with everyone.
