"Game of Thrones": The Viper and The Mountain are real-life pals

[Warning: This point contains spoilers from Sunday's "Game of Thrones" episode, "The Mountain and The Viper."]

If you're still reeling from the end of Sunday night's "Game of Thones" (or hearing that head-squishing sound in your head over and over again), this might make you feel a bit better.

Though their characters faced off in a brutal battle on the HBO drama, it turns out the actors who play The Viper and The Mountain are real-life pals.

Pedro Pascal, who plays Prince Oberyn Martell (aka The Red Viper of Dorne) shared a photo on Instagram showing him and Hafthor Julius Bjornsson, who plays Ser Gregor Clegane, aka The Mountain.

They're smiling and posing in swimsuits, and, thankfully, Pascal seems to have both his eyes and all his teeth and a non-crushed skull. Its caption simply says, "Buds."

It also seems that Instagram has known the outcome to their matchup for months. Back in April, Lena Headey, who plays Cersei Lannister, posted a photo showing her pretending to gouge out Pascal's eyes.
