"Game of Thrones" stars on what to expect in season 4

"Game of Thrones" cast on season 4

It's time to play a new "Game of Thrones."

The return of the hit HBO series is fast approaching.

Cast members including Peter Dinklage and Emilia Clarke were spotted on the red carpet Tuesday night at New York's Lincoln Center for the season 4 premiere screening.

This year, Dinklage's character, Tyrion Lannister, finds himself married to the youthful Sansa Stark (Sophie Tuner), but his heart lies elsewhere.

"It makes for very interesting dynamics," Dinklage said, alluding to what's in store for season 4.

Also on the red carpet was co-executive producer George R.R. Martin, who wrote the "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series, from which "Game of Thrones" is based.

The author, who is currently writing a new novel for the series, says fans of the books may not know everything that will happen on the show.

"People like to say no one is safe in my books, which is true," Martin pointed out, "But people are even less safe on the TV series."

The "Game of Thrones" season 4 premiere will air Sunday, April 6 on HBO.
