Former boxing champion O'Neil Bell killed in shooting

ATLANTA - Police are searching for the suspects accused of killing a former professional boxer and injuring another during a shooting in southwest Atlanta, reports CBS affiliate WGCL.

According to the station, the shooting happened just after midnight and police identified the victim who died as O'Neil Bell, 40, who was a cruiserweight boxing title holder. Another victim was badly injured.

Officers are now looking for two suspects who fled the scene in a PT Cruiser automobile.

According to police, the victims got off a bus and were walking down the street when Bell and the other victim were allegedly robbed. Investigators said Bell fought back before he was shot to death. They do not believe the suspects knew who Bell was.
