Foo Fighters "rickroll" Westboro Baptist Church protesters

It's becoming a tradition for the Foo Fighters in Kansas City: the Westboro Baptist Church organizes a protest against the band, who then find a way to turn the tables on the picketers.

The latest episode occurred Friday outside Kansas City's Sprint Center. The controversial church, which has developed a long history of picketing events, including the funerals of U.S. soldiers, in order to spread its anti-gay agenda, were gathered outside the venue when the Foo Fighters pulled up in a pickup truck to pull off one of the most well known Internet meme-inspired pranks: the rickroll.

Video from the scene shows fans and onlookers rush toward the truck as Rick Astley's 1987 hit "Never Gonna Give You Up" blasted from the stereo and band members boogied in the back.

It wasn't the first time the Foo Fighters had some fun at the Topeka, Kansas-based church's expense. In 2011, again in Kansas City, the band crashed the church's protest dressed in wigs and fake beards to serenade demonstrators with their faux-country ditty, "Keep it clean."
