Student in video talks of "Purge"-style violence, report says
SOUTHWEST RANCHES, Fla. -- Police questioned a Davie, Florida student after a video surfaced showing her talking about violence and "the day my sanity snaps," reports CBS Miami.
In the video, which authorities became aware of on Friday Jan. 30, a person not seen on camera asks the Archbishop McCarthy High School student, "So you want 'The Purge' to happen?," an apparent reference to a recent horror film in which, on one night a year, all crime is legal.
"That would be (expletive) cool," the student replied. Throughout the video the student laughs while describing violent acts.
"After they die and they're like begging me for mercy, I basically just massacre them," she said.
"The day I snap is gonna be hella fun. The day my sanity snaps ... I'm a time bomb, ticking."
Davie police are investigating., says CBS Miami, and plan to work with the state attorney's office to decide if the student will be charged.
Mary Ross Agosta of the Archdiocese of Miami said the student was not in school at any point on the day the video surfaced.
