Florida man captured in attempted murder of infant

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. -- A man wanted for attempted murder of an infant in Pinellas Park, Florida was was arrested Sunday, according to CBS affiliate WTSP.

Authorities were searching for Glen Franklin Neal Jr., 31, since Friday after he allegedly beat an 11-month old boy. He was wanted on an attempted murder charge.

The child was brought to All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, suffering from a severe head injury. Investigators say they believe Neal abused the boy. They will not confirm Neal's relationship to the boy but say he was responsible for the child's care and was in the child's home.

The child remains in serious condition, under heavy sedation and is not breathing on his own.

Neal is being held in the Pinellas County Jail without bond. He will appear before a circuit court judge Monday afternoon.
