Father, son charged in death of man found behind Mass. school

SOMERVILLE, Mass. – A father and son were charged Friday after a man was found dead behind a school in Norwood, Mass. late last month, reports CBS Boston.

The body of 66-year-old Vincent Lalli was found by a dogwalker behind the Coakley Middle School on Jan. 29. He had been reported missing to the Somerville Police Department a week prior.

Anthony Canejo Sr., 52, was charged with armed assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. His son, 30-year-old Anthony Canejo Jr., was arraigned on accessory charges.

Both suspects lived with the victim in an apartment in Somerville, a few miles north of Boston, according to prosecutors.

Canejo Sr. is accused of assaulting Lalli with a crowbar and strangling him in Somerville. Then, Canejo Jr. allegedly helped his father bring the body to Norwood, about 30 miles south.

Both suspects are being held without bail.
