"Fashion Police" will continue without Joan Rivers

"Fashion Police" will go on despite the death of Joan Rivers.

E! made the announcement on Friday, explaining that the comedian's daughter, Melissa Rivers, had given the network her blessing.

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of Joan Rivers and, for the last two weeks, have turned our attention to honoring her memory on all of our platforms. We have also thought long and hard about what Joan would have wanted as it pertains to the future of 'Fashion Police,'" the network said in a statement. "We decided, with Melissa Rivers' blessing, that Joan would have wanted the franchise to continue. 'Fashion Police' will return in 2015 commencing with Golden Globes coverage on Monday, January 12. No further details will be announced at this time."

Melissa Rivers also confirmed the news during the network's "Joan Day," which featured a "Fashion Police" marathon culminating in a 90-minute "Remembering Joan" TV special paying tribute to Rivers, who died Sept. 4 at the age of 81.

"We're going to hit pause for a little while, but 'Fashion Police' will be back in January," she said, adding, "I really want to thank all of the Joan Rangers for the outpouring of love and support, it has meant so much to [son] Cooper and me. From the bottom of my heart, thank you."
