Ex-Subway pitchman Jared Fogle transferred to Colo. federal prison

LITTLETON, Colo. --Former Subway pitchman Jared Fogle, who pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography and was sentenced last month to more than 15 years in prison, has been transferred to a federal correctional institution in Colorado, reports CBS affiliate WTTV.

Fogle requested to serve his time at the FBI Englewood facility in Littleton during his sentencing hearing last month because of their sex offender program. He was moved from Henderson, Kentucky to a facility in Oklahoma City this week before the transfer to Colorado.

His release date has reportedly been set for July 11, 2029.

Jared Fogle reveals how he lured minors in secret recordings

Fogle agreed in August to plead guilty to one count each of travelling to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a minor and distribution and receipt of child pornography. The charges followed a July raid on his suburban Indianapolis home. The resulting criminal case destroyed his career as the public face of the nation's largest sandwich restaurant chain.

He is appealing the sentence, which was longer than the maximum term prosecutors agreed to pursue as part of his plea deal.

Fogle admitted that he paid for sex at New York City hotels with girls who were 16 or 17 years old and that he had received child pornography produced by the head of his anti-obesity charity, Russell Taylor.

Taylor was sentenced last week to 27 years in prison after pleading guilty to 12 counts of child exploitation and one count of distributing child porn.

Prosecutors say Taylor used hidden cameras in his Indianapolis-area homes to secretly film 12 minors who were nude, changing clothes, or engaged in other activities.
