Elderly Florida woman charged in husband's murder

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. -- A woman allegedly admitted to shooting and killing her husband Wednesday, reports CBS affiliate WKMG.

Anna Pehota, 75, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of her husband, John Pehota.

Deputies said the suspect called 911 around 4:30 p.m. and told dispatchers she had shot and killed a man. Officers who arrived six minutes later found her dead husband, said Jim Troiano, director of the Flagler County Sheriff's Office

"She stated that she has shot her husband and believed to have killed him," Troiano said.

Detectives, who recovered a gun believed to have been used in the killing, say the couple had an argument before the shooting.

Police said they had been to the home four times in the past three years: one time in 2013 for a medical call; twice in 2014, once for an assistance call and a once for a 911 call; and in 2015 for a 911 call.

Anna Pehota is being held without bond. No other details were immediately released.
