Dulles airport loses power for 2 hours

Dulles International Airport outside Washington, D.C, lost power for more than two hours Saturday.

Jonathan Freye, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, said operations were returning to normal after two power surges caused the outage in the main terminal and concourses A through D.

The surges happened at about 1:25 p.m., and the power came back on shortly before 4 p.m.

United Airlines voluntarily delayed some of its departures until the power came back on.

The airport continued to receive flights during the outage.
