Diane Sawyer's Bruce Jenner interview has a date

"More proud of him now": Bruce Jenner’s mother praises his gender transition

Diane Sawyer's sit-down interview with Bruce Jenner is slated to air on April 24, ABC announced Monday.

"Bruce Jenner's far-ranging, exclusive interview with ABC News Anchor Diane Sawyer airs Friday, April 24 on a special edition of "20/20," according to the network.

Jenner, 65, is expected to talk about transitioning from male to female in the two-hour special, dubbed "Bruce Jenner - The Interview."

The Olympian-turned-reality TV star was also planning to document the transition in an E! docuseries, which has reportedly been put hold.

Jenner has not publicly commented on the transition, but his mother praised him in a recent Associated Press interview, saying, "I am at peace with what he is and what he's doing."

On Monday, TMZ posted a photo of Jenner hiking in Malibu, California, wearing shorts and sweatshirt -- with a hat, hood and sunglasses partially covering his face.
