Michigan house fire kills 4, including 2 children

ROSE TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- Police said four people, including two children, have died in a fire at a home in suburban Detroit. Michigan State Police said two other people were seriously injured in the fire early Tuesday in Oakland County's Rose Township.

Police said the injured were taken to a hospital for treatment and at least one had severe burns.

According to CBS Detroit, Michigan State Police Lt. Mike Shaw said troopers and firefighters rushed to the scene just outside Holly, but the structure was already fully engulfed when they arrived.

"We were not able to get inside of the house at all," Shaw said.

The North Oakland County Fire Authority said a man and woman believed to be in their mid-20s died along with the children. Names of the victims weren't immediately released.

CBS Detroit reports there was no immediate word on the cause of the fire. At least four departments responded to the blaze and the Michigan State Fire Marshal's office is investigating.
