Couple accused of giving away teen daughter waive arraignments

New details revealed after girls rescued from Pennsylvania home

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. -- A Pennsylvania couple and a Philadelphia-area man to whom they allegedly gave their 14-year-old daughter in exchange for money have waived their arraignments.

Daniel and Savilla Stoltzfus had been scheduled to appear Friday in Bucks County, but online court records show they appeared Wednesday and waived arraignment. The man to whom they allegedly gave their daughter, Lee Kaplan of Feasterville, did the same thing Tuesday. They’ve all pleaded not guilty.

Police say Daniel Stoltzfus told them he and his wife “gave” their daughter to Kaplan for financial help.

Kaplan is awaiting trial on sexual assault charges. Authorities contend Kaplan fathered two children with the girl and that nine girls found in Kaplan’s home in June were also the Stoltzfus’ children.

All three defendants remain jailed unable to post bail.
