Officials: Mo. murder suspect who escaped barefoot captured

TEXAS COUNTY, Mo. — Police said Tuesday that a homicide suspect who escaped from custody Monday evening has been captured.

Daniel Glen Campbell, had last been seen in a Texas County, Mo., jail, where he was wearing an orange and white striped jail shirt and pants with no shoes. The Houston Herald newspaper reports that Campbell darted through an open door at the jail around 6 p.m.

He was being held on charges that he shot two men, killing one, on Oct. 25.

The circumstances of Campbell’s capture were not immediately clear.
