Dan Brown reveals first look at "Origin"

"CBS This Morning" is getting the first look at bestselling author Dan Brown's upcoming book, "Origin."

"Origin" centers on two of the fundamental questions of humankind: Where do we come from? Where are we going? It finds Robert Langdon, a Harvard professor of symbology and religious iconology, at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao for a major announcement: the unveiling of a discovery that promises to change science forever. The host of the evening is a billionaire futurist and one of Langdon's former students. The guests are dazzled by the astonishing breakthrough until the event erupts into chaos and the discovery becomes at risk of being lost forever.

The novel marks the fifth installment in Brown's Robert Langdon series. "Angels & Demons" first introduced audiences to Langdon back in 2000. With subsequent novels in the series, "The Da Vinci Code," "The Lost Symbol," and "Inferno," Brown's books have sold more than 200 million copies, been published in 56 languages, and turned into Hollywood blockbusters.

In October and November, Brown will be doing his first book tour in nearly 15 years since the release of "The Da Vinci Code."

"Origin" is out Oct. 3, 2017. Tune in Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017 for Brown's interview with "CBS Sunday Morning" and Tuesday, Oct. 3 for his live interview on "CBS This Morning."
