Cops: Snowman smashed, then a person-to-person Conn. assault

CLINTON, Conn. - Police say a Connecticut man assaulted two teenagers in a home invasion, because he thought they knocked down a snowman he built in his yard.

Winter really brings out the best in people, don't ya think?

Clinton police told The Day of New London that James Knudsen, 22, forced his way into his neighbor’s house, swung a pool stick at the teenagers and punched both of them in the face. The two juveniles, ages 16 and 17, had minor injuries.

Clinton was charged with home invasion, misdemeanor assault, burglary and other crimes on Thursday.

Knudsen was detained on $5,000 bail and was scheduled to be arraigned in Middletown Superior Court. It’s not clear if he has a lawyer.

The snowman was in no condition to comment.
