Cops search for car in case of Minn. teen missing a week

ALEXANDRIA, Minn. -- Police are searching for a car in connection with the case of a Minnesota teen missing for a week, reports CBS Minnesota.

Laura Schwendemann, 18, has reportedly been missing since Wednesday, Oct. 14. The Twin Cities Pioneer Press reports the teen is a freshman at the University of Minnesota-Morris. She was last seen at a gas station 40 miles southwest of the school, in Alexandria, Minn.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says she didn't leave voluntarily, reports CBS Minnesota.

They're asking anyone who saw a black 1997 Geo Prism with a loud exhaust between Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 9:30 p.m. and Thursday, Oct. 15 at 10:30 a.m. to contact authorities.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Douglas County Sheriff at 320-762-8151, or the Pope County Sheriff at 320-634-5144.
