Cops: Mom left son with drug user, filed fake kidnap report

ST. CHARLES, Mo.- A young mother is accused of giving away her 18-month-old child to a heroin user and then filing a fake kidnapping report, reports CBS affiliate KMOV.

Desiree Ann-Marie Cozzoni, 18, reportedly told police she gave the child away because she wanted to live life like a normal teenager, but she had originally told police the child was kidnapped.

Police said that the woman who received the child, via non-legal documents, reportedly frequently used drugs with Cozzoni.

The teen was charged with making a false report, endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
