Texas man killed after high-speed chase

HOUSTON - A man who allegedly led Houston police on a high speed chase Wednesday morning was shot and killed after crashing his car, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

The chase and shooting were captured on video by news helicopters.

CBS affiliate KHOU reports that Houston police say the incident began when a patrol vehicle tried to pull the 25-year-old suspect over around 10:30 am, but he refused to stop, and a chase ensued.

After attempts to slow down the suspect's vehicle with spike strips failed, the suspect crashed into two cars, then exited the vehicle and was shot.

A second unidentified person was taken to the hospital in connection with the incident, according to the station.
