Cops: Ill. man broke into co-worker's home, stole underwear

Police arrest burglar with an underwear fetish

HIGHLAND, Ill. - An Illinois man is facing charges of burglary and stalking after police say they found him hiding in the basement of a co-worker, from whom he allegedly stole bras, underwear and other personal items, reports CBS affiliate KMOV.

Police say 31-year-old suspect Annan Gross is the victim's supervisor at a warehouse in Edwardsville.

According to authorities, after work one night earlier this month, Gross drove to the woman's home and entered through an unlocked window.

The victim reportedly told investigators that when she returned home, she found Gross there and called 911.

Authorities responded to the scene and ultimately obtained a search warrant for Gross' vehicle, in which they found multiple pairs of underwear, each in a plastic bag with the victim's name written on it, reports the station. They also found a duffel bag filled with feminine hygiene products and pieces of hair, according to the station.

Gross' wife told KMOV she loves her husband and she wants him to get help.

"I feel like there are so many people with mental health issues in this country that don't get services until something terrible happens. I really wish that wasn't the case," she said.

According to police, Gross admitted to breaking into the woman's home and stealing the items. He also allegedly told them he has a fetish for women's undergarments and stole underwear from other women in the past, too.
