Cops: 1 shot, 1 in custody after shooting at Boston hospital

BOSTON - Boston police say one person was critically wounded in a shooting at Brigham And Women's Hospital in the city on Tuesday and one person has been taken into custody, reports CBS Boston.

A source told CBS Boston the victim is a male cardiac surgeon.

Boston police said in a Twitter post that the situation was under control and that a weapon was recovered from the scene.

According to the station, hospital officials said the shooting took place in the Shapiro building, where the cardiovascular unit is located.

The shooting was reported shortly after 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Several road and subway closures were reported in the area.

No other information was immediately available.
