Police: Girl, 10, unintended victim of drive-by shooting

HARTFORD, Conn. — Connecticut police have arrested two people suspected of involvement of a drive-by shooting that investigators say accidentally wounded a 10-year-old girl, reports CBS affiliate WFSB.

The girl was outside on the morning of Nov. 6, when nearly a dozen shots were fired, one of which struck her. A bullet remains lodged in one of the girl’s eyes, but is expected to be removed through surgery this week.

Police have arrested Kwanze Fluker, 22, and an unidentified teen. Fluker is a suspect in other shootings, and investigators believe the Nov. 6 incident was the result of a series of back-and-forth attacks, according to Hartford police Deputy Chief Brian Foley.

“The girl and her family had nothing to do with anything that was going on,” Foley said.

The two suspects are expected to be arraigned Wednesday.
