Coming up Sunday: Speaker John Boehner, Bernie Sanders, and John Kasich

The political world was shocked Friday by the news that House Speaker John Boehner would resign from the speakership - and from Congress altogether - at the end of October. With his meeting with Pope Francis behind him, and a looming battle with House conservatives over a possible government shutdown ahead of him, the speaker decided it's time to go.

In a live interview on Sunday you'll see only on Face the Nation, we'll ask him why. What impact did the Pope's visit to the Capitol have on the Speaker - did it influence his decision at all?

And as the 2016 election continues to intensify, we'll also talk with Republican presidential candidate John Kasich, who served with Boehner in Congress for years, about his thoughts on the speaker's decision and his take on the presidential race.

On the Democratic side, we'll talk with Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, who's taken his insurgent presidential campaign from long-shot to strong contender, about whether he can sustain his momentum.

And after a busy news week, we'll need some expert guidance to help us make sense of it all. CBS News Congressional Correspondent Nancy Cordes, Wall Street Journal columnist Kim Strassel, the Washington Post's Ed O'Keefe, and USA Today's Susan Page join us for a political panel.

We hope you tune in Sunday. Check your local listings for times!
