Coast Guard rescuing 40 youths, 6 adults in Wash. camp
CLALLAM COUNTY, Wash. The Coast Guard is working to rescue dozens of people stranded on Lake Crescent in the Olympic National Park Friday night, CBS affiliate KOIN reports.
Officials said 40 youths and six adults were stranded at Camp David.
Coast Guard crews are taking multiple trips to rescue the people. It takes about 50 minutes round trip and they’re estimating about six trips.
Just after 7:30 p.m. PST, the third group of people made it to shore safely.
