Clintons send condolences to Arkansas tornado victims

Hillary Clinton laments Arkansas tornado damage

Bill and Hillary Clinton, whose long resumes include roles as the former governor and first lady of Arkansas, offered their condolences to for victims of astring of tornadoes that have killed dozens of people in the south and central United States.

"My thoughts & prayers are with the families and communities in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Iowa affected by last night's devastating tornadoes," Bill Clinton wrote on Twitter Monday.

In a speech in Washington, D.C., the same day, Hillary Clinton said that from her days living in Arkansas she knows, "exactly where the big tornado hit," and how "devastating" it can be for residents.

Clinton offered "best wishes for recovery and sympathy to those who were directly affected."

The storm system, which spawned several deadly tornadoes, killed more than 15 people in Arkansas.
