Chris Young: I had nothing to do with Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton's divorce

Country singer Chris Young took to Facebook Tuesday to clear up reports that he had anything to do with Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert's divorce.

"I don't normally address gossip but in this case I will. My name has been mentioned as a contributing factor in Blake and Miranda's divorce. That is totally FALSE. They are both my friends and I would not betray that friendship. Just wanted to clear that up. Love you guys - CY," Young, 30, wrote.

His statement follows reports that Young may have had an affair with Lambert.

Young won the reality TV singing competition "Nashville Star" (Lambert was on the same show in 2003) and has had hits with "Voices" and "Lonely Eyes." He served as Lambert's opening act in 2012.

Lambert, 31, and Shelton, 39, released a joint statement Monday announcing their split after four years of marriage, saying, "This is not the future we envisioned. And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter."

The power couple were together for more than five years before getting married. They met in 2005 and exchanged vows in May 2011 in Texas.
