Chris Rock to host 2014 BET Awards

Funnyman Chris Rock has a high-profile gig lined up in June.

The comedian and actor has been tapped to host this year's BET Awards.

Rock was revealed as the host by Bow Wow and Keshia during Thursday's taping of "106 and Park."

"The BET Awards is the hottest awards show on TV, by far," Rock said during his appearance.

This will mark the first time the 49-year-old entertainer has hosted the awards show, although he certainly has experience. Rock hosted the Billboard Music Awards in 1996 before going on to host the MTV Video Music Awards in 1997, 1999 and once again in 2003. He also hosted the 77th annual Academy Awards in 2005.

"I've done 'em all but none as hot as [the BET Awards]," Rock said.

The awards show will be held at Los Angeles' Nokia Theatre.

Beyonce and Jay Z, along with Kenrick Lamar, J. Cole and Macklemore and Lewis are some of this year's biggest nominees.

The 2014 BET Awards will air live at 8 p.m. ET on June 29 on BET.
