Chris Colfer not leaving "Glee," Twitter account was hacked

Don't worry, "Glee" fans -- Chris Colfer is not leaving the series.

On Thursday, a message was posted on the actor's Twitter page that said, "Due to personal issues, I have been let go from the cast of GLEE. Explanations will come shortly..."

But shortly after it was sent, "Glee" producers issued a statement saying Colfer's account had been hacked and the announcement was false.

"We've been alerted that Chris Colfer's Twitter account has been hacked," 20th Century Fox TV said. "Rumors of his dismissal from 'Glee' could not be further from the truth. We love Chris and look forward to working with him again this season.

Colfer has played Kurt Hummel on the Fox series since it premiered five seasons ago. The role earned him two Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe for supporting actor in a comedy series.

"Glee" is set to return for a sixth and final season.
