Chicago hero cop saves four people, three dogs from burning house

CHICAGO -- If it's all in a day's work, it was a remarkable one for a Chicago Police officer.

CBS Chicago station WBBM-TV spoke with Officer Jennifer Jacobucci, who saved four people and three dogs from a house fire on Tuesday.

She saw smoke and went to work; the home was engulfed in flames.

"I was yelling, 'Police, fire, everybody get out!'" she said. She went room by room pulling people and pets out to safety.

Sydney, an Australian shepherd, was especially lucky.

She was exhausted and had to be given oxygen through a mask.

"I was just doing my job," Jacobucci said.

Jacobucci did suffer smoke inhalation but was treated and back at work Tuesday night.
