Central Texas woman charged in mother's strangulation death

BURNET, Texas - Central Texas authorities say they have charged a woman with murder in the strangulation death of her mother.

The Burnet County sheriff's office announced Sunday that 39-year-old Rhonda Carrell of Burnet is charged with murder in the death of 63-year-old Pamela Ross.

Deputies on Friday discovered Ross' body in her home at the Inks Lake RV Park near Burnet. The RV park's manager says the mother and daughter had lived together.

The sheriff's office says deputies had responded to the residence after someone had called, asking authorities to check on Ross. An autopsy later determined Ross died from strangulation.

An investigation is ongoing. It wasn't immediately known if Carrell has an attorney.
