CBS Sacramento viewer replaces girl's stolen tablet

NATOMAS, Calif. - A CBS Sacramento viewer who saw a story broadcast on the station about a young girl who had her tablet stolen decided to do something to make things right.

Brigitte, an 8-year-old Northern California girl, was at the Natomas restaurant where her father works on Saturday, when two men grabbed her brand new Samsung tablet when she was in the bathroom.

Andrew Avalos, a CBS Sacramento viewer, saw the station's report, and as a father of two boys, he knew what he had to do: buy her a new one.

Brigett's reaction?

"Aww, it's beautiful," she said upon receiving it.

Avalos says he just wanted to replace what she lost.

"Sometimes you see things and you just -- I have two sons -- and just the idea that someone would take something from them, it really bothered me to see especially taking from a child like that," he told the station.

Authorities are still searching for the tablet-stealing tandem.
