Calif. man charged after mother is found dead in alley

BURBANK, Calif. – Police arrested a Southern California man on Monday after his 76-year-old mother was found dead in an alley, reports CBS Los Angeles.

Moises Diaz, the victim’s son, is charged with suspicion of murder. He is being held on $1 million bail.

The victim, whose name has been withheld until her family is notified, was found dead at 10:44 a.m. Monday behind her apartment complex in Burbank.

The body had been wrapped in some sort of cloth and discarded by a trash bin, according to Burbank police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.

Ryburn confirmed that Diaz lived with his mother and appeared to be her caretaker.

The victim's official cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy.
