Bush super PAC spends over $21 million for TV ads in early states

Right to Rise USA, a super PAC supporting former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush in his bid for the White House, is spending just over $21 million in television advertising for key early-voting states.

Bush, Trump trade fiery remarks

For ads running from the middle of September through the end of the year in Iowa, the super PAC spent $6 million, according to Right to Rise spokesperson Paul Lindsay. In South Carolina the pro-Bush organization has spent just under $4 million for ads running from September 22 to the close of December.

Right to Rise is putting the bulk of its advertising dollars in New Hampshire, buying $11.4 million worth of television advertising in the Granite State.

According to early media reports, the first commercials will remain positive and focus on Bush's record as Florida's chief executive.

The super PAC has become a fundraising giant for Bush's presidential campaign, raising more than $100 million in the first six months of 2015.

The ad buys come as Bush is struggling to hold on to second place in national polls. Real estate mogul Donald Trump recently overtook the lead spot in the GOP field with 24 percent of Republican voters supporting him, according to the latest CBS News poll. Bush trails behind him with 13 percent of the vote; Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker falls further behind at 10 percent.
