Body of missing Ky. woman found; husband charged

MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, Mo. -- A man is charged with murder after the body of his wife, who he was suspected of kidnapping, was discovered in rural southeast Missouri, reports CBS affiliate KFVS.

Sylvia Tipler, 45, was last seen Oct. 8 in Ullin, Illinois with her husband, Clifford Williams, who is also 45. Authorities in Pulaski County, Ill., had been seeking Williams on a kidnapping warrant, saying he was armed and dangerous, reports the station.

Tipler is reportedly from Paducah, Kentucky. Her body was found Sunday, reports WSIU.

Deputy Sheriff Cory Hutcheson of Mississippi County, Mo., told the station Williams is now in custody, facing charges of first-degree murder, armed criminal action and abandonment of a corpse. Hutcheson says Williams is being held without bond.

An autopsy on Tipler's body was set for Monday in Farmington, Mo.
