Body found in missing Fla. woman's submerged car

BRANDON, Fla. -- Police in Tampa, Fla. believe a body found in a submerged car Sunday evening is that of a woman missing for more than a week, reports CBS affiliate WTSP.

Authorities have not officially identified the body as that of 33-year-old Apryl Foster, reports the station. But they say the 2009 Chevy Aveo discovered submerged in a Brandon lake at the end of a community boat ramp is the car that Foster was believed to be driving when she vanished from a Tampa bar Feb. 12. They also say the victim's clothing appears to match was Foster was wearing when she disappeared.

Family tell the station they believe the body is likely their daughter.

"We just know she's with Jesus now. We are so thankful because, for me, I just couldn't imagine not having closure with something like this," the woman's mother told reporters. "We know she is looking at the eyes of Jesus."

The vehicle was discovered a half mile from Foster's home, reports the station.

Foster was last seen leaving a Tampa bar around 2:19 a.m. Feb. 12 and walking down the sidewalk alone. An autopsy is scheduled to determine the victim's identity and cause of death.
