"Boardwalk Empire" teaser debuts for fifth and final season

It looks like Enoch "Nucky" Thompson isn't going to go away quietly, judging by the first teaser for the upcoming fifth and final season of "Boardwalk Empire."

In the 37-second trailer, which made its debut online Sunday, Thompson is seen contemplating his options on New Jersey's famed Atlantic City boardwalk as a cover of Harry Nilsson's "One" can be heard."

The trick's to stay alive long enough to cash out," Thompson says in the clip, ominously foreshadowing the dangers that await the bootlegging kingpin as the Emmy Award-winning series comes to a close.

Undoubtedly, some big changes are in store, as season 5 is expected to take place several years after we last left off with Thompson and the gang in season 4, which was set in 1924. The series is slated pick up sometime in the early 1930s at the height of Prohibition.

Find out if Thompson makes it out alive when the final season of "Boardwalk Empire" kicks off this September, airing Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.
