Ben Carson: HUD secretary is "one of the offers" on the table

Ben Carson told Fox News’ “Your World with Neil Cavuto” that housing and urban development (HUD) secretary was “one of the offers that’s on the table” from Donald Trump. Carson told Fox that the inner cities are “in terrible shape,” and “it certainly it something that has been a long-term interest of mine and I’ll be thinking and praying about it seriously over the holiday.”

On Wednesday morning, Carson tweeted that an announcement about his role in a Trump administration is forthcoming:

And on his Facebook page, he wrote, “I feel that I can make a significant contribution particularly to making our inner cities great for everyone. We have much work to do in strengthening every aspect of our nation and ensuring that both our physical infrastructure and our spiritual infrastructure is solid.”

Just a week ago, Carson’s friend Armstrong Williams had told The Hill that Carson wasn’t interested in running a government agency because he’s never run a federal agency.

On Tuesday, Mr. Trump had said he was “seriously considering” Carson for the job.
