Baltimore police arrest 6 teens for "Bump and Run" auto thefts

BALTIMORE - The Baltimore Police Department has arrested six local teens in connection with a series "bump and run" style auto thefts in the city.

"Bump and runs" involve a suspect intentionally rear-ending cars on the road and then stealing them, police say.

The city's police commissioner convened a task force to investigate the incidents, according to CBS Baltimore.

Since the arrest of six individuals -- 18-year-old Barry Diggs, 19-year-old Kenyawn Megginson, 19-year-old Jasmine Gerald, a 17-year-old and two 16-year-olds -- there have been no additional reports of "bump and runs," according to police
