Baltimore corrections facility violence leaves 14 hurt

BALTIMORE --A skirmish at a Baltimore correctional facility left eight officers and six inmate injured, officials say.

CBS Baltimore reports the incident at the Baltimore Pre-Trial Complex took place late Sunday night as detainees refused a lockdown order after a conflict between an inmate and an officer.

Detainees allegedly attacked officers and other inmates who had barricaded themselves.

Officers from surrounding facilities helped end the blockade.

The officers and three detainees were taken to the hospital, treated and released.

Two the dorms linked to the incident remained on lockdown Monday.
